Support is heating up on the greens!

We’ve had a flurry of fundraising activities this summer with companies, organizations and groups out to enjoy the summer sunshine and support families affected by workplace tragedy. That has meant a number of well-attended and successful charity golf tournaments in Alberta and Ontario who have all chosen to donate funds raised to Threads of Life. Thank you all for your support!

In Alberta, the Calgary Regional Safety Committee (CRSC) Golf Classic held June 20, the Canadian Society of Safety Engineering (CSSE) Edmonton Chapter’s Golf Tournament on June 28, and the Women In Construction & Young Construction Leaders Annual Golf Tournament on July 24. Volunteer speaker Wynny Sillito attended both the Edmonton CSSE and WIC/YCL events to share her experience and message about workplace safety and the long term effects of a workplace injury.

In Ontario, Grand River Occupational Health & Safety held their annual Swing for Safety Golf Tournament in early June, and Fisher Wavy, Levitt-Safety, and King Paving and Construction all held tournaments later in the month. In Red Lake, Ontario, the Helgeson family held the Eric Helgeson Memorial Golf Tournament, bringing together friends and family for a day to celebrate and honour Eric and support Threads of Life’s families.

We know other event planners are hard at work — we look forward to a busy early fall with lots of tournaments and events scheduled.

Thank you to all of the event organizers, participants, sponsors, and donors who made these events possible. Your support is making a difference for families who’ve experienced a workplace tragedy, and your leadership is inspiring!

Are you thinking about hosting a fundraising event that may be the right fit? Reach out to connect!
